With You Always

"So, now, go I am sending you to Pharaoh...", Exodus 3:10. Most skim past the phrase without giving it a second thought. Similar language "Go to Pharoah...", appears later in Exodus 10:1. It is possible your Bible says something slightly different, "come". Because Moses stood right there in God's presence when receiving his mission, "go" probably seems more more natural. However, several translation including those used in synagogues render the word, "come". Neither word is wrong. Both halak, Exodus 3:10 and bo, Exodus 10:1 can mean "go" or "come". Using come does acknowledge a very important truth. When God calls us to a journey, He does not cast us out of His presence. He bids us to draw near to Him. Where can we go away from God , Psalm 139:7-12? Wherever God sends us, He is already there preparing our way, fighting our battles, waiting for us. No steps of obedience lead us away from Him. Whether the words say "go" or "come", we serve a God who has always declared, "I am with you always," Genesis 28:15, Joshua 1:5, Psalms 46:7, Matthew 28:20. You are never alone. That is Worth Remembering.
