Bathrobes and Last Days

"Can you ask them to just call first?" I asked my husband about the contractors who were popping up at our home with increasing frequency. Admittedly, as a Florida resident, I spend far to much time in swimsuit bottoms and old T-shirts. Working from home, hair and makeup often get done closer to dinner than breakfast. Being caught off guard has happened more than once.
Today, I greeted Jehovah's Witness wearing a bathrobe, sleepshirt, and yesterday's messy bun. It's hard to be on your game discussing theology through a veil of face cream. As I contemplated the "intrusions" in my life, my husband's solution bubbled up in my mind. "You know you could try wearing pants and just be ready."
As frustrating as the answer was, his words drove me back to scripture. So many watch every development on the news for for signs of the last days. Instead, we are told,"...be ready," Matthew 24:42-50. Wear your bathrobe. Leave your hair undone, if you like. Just make sure when it comes to Jesus you are ready. That's Worth Remembering
I find it interesting though that if you are not working a paying job, you can't afford to look your best everyday you wake up. Though when you are going out you look your best for yourself and your spouse or the others you will see. Though our spouses say they don't care what we look like after they marry us and get offended if we try to look our best when going out or working. They feel that we are trying to attract the opposite sex.
