Almost Ready to Publish

It's happening! After years of working and waiting, the manuscript has gone to the typesetter. Exiting Egypt is almost ready to publish.
There is so much to learn from the stories we tend to skim over, thinking we have them down. The Exodus saga did not begin with the unleashing of plagues or when a nation marched into freedom. It began the moment the shepherd slipped off his shoes and drew closer to the voice of God.
Moses was not the Messiah, but he offered a tiny picture of what the Good Shepherd would be. Obediently fulfilling the mission, the LORD had given him, Moses was transformed. As Moses allowed himself to be changed a nation was freed. The exiled prince found peace and power leading a people to freedom and reflecting God’s glory, Exodus 34:33-35. Isn’t that what we, God’s people, are all called to do? Isn’t our mission to allow ourselves to be transformed, reflecting God’s glory, and extending peace and power to those in bondage as they strive to exit their Egypt?
"Exiting Egypt" does more than take an up close look at Moses. It is a reminder that, like us, Moses was not called to do the impossible. He was called to obey and watch what God would with and for and through people willing to listen and obey his voice. That's Worth Remembering.
